MY PHILOSOPHY ON TECH ED
Below are my three go to elements for any tech ed integration...
So you want to make the next amazing eLearning platform… Make sure the user experience is stellar! Many of the other elements will follow naturally if your end user feels comfortable using your great idea. I like to check out some already popular sites for inspiration!
Assessment and evaluation are key components to successful educational technologies. But there is more too it than scoring 90% on a quiz. I always like to take advantage of the feedback my learners have to keep making the technology even better.
We all get hooked on the latest web based craze at one time or another. So how do we make our great idea into the next eLearning craze? I like to start by looking at the value I can add to the already rich world of eLearning and then build from there.
I BELIEVE LEARNING IS AT THE HEART OF TECHNOLOGY...
SO WHY NOT GET OUR USERS INVOLVED!
Some of My Skills
Any time I hear the my colleagues say they are integrating a new technology into their curriculum I get excited! However, I often wonder why technology and education are still so separate? I can't wait for the day when talk about the best technology for the right learning environment.
The roles of us educators and we developers are starting to converge now more than ever. In my opinion this is a very exciting change to be a part of, but that also means that other skills are necessary to stay current and up to date.
Here is how I would rate my skills...
PHOTOHOP, DREAMWEAVER, ETC.
MOODLE, WORDPRESS, xAPI, ETC.
Bachelor of Sociology
I completed my undergraduate degree at Ryerson University in Sociology. It was here that my passion for understanding how education and technology intersect began.
Master of Education
I harnessed these thoughts and precoded to complete my M.Ed at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). The sky has been the limit ever since.
